LITTLE BOYS
Francisco de Goya, Saturno devorando a su hijo,
1820-23 (Museo del Prado, Madrid)
Bloody slaughters covering corpses in red.
Stacked bundle of crooked child parts.
Cruelty and anger making them shed
their future and adding numbers in charts.
The innocent little hoodlum with his gun
handling it like a little toy
is in the chart of boys who have fun
by resigning the condition of little boy.
Meanwhile, a man is relaxing in gold bath
thinking of his next plans or not thinking
about the reality far beyond his path,
about the little boys he’s been killing.
Dying little boys are going their way
all along beneath any haunting ground.
But upon a sunflower garden they say:
"We know that now we’ll not be found".
